Anita's Story

Anita was a 4 year old abandoned child when she came to Karnaprayag. Tara a banker, asked us at the same time for an older child as she was single and a working woman. She took Anita home and mother and daughter bonded well. Soon Anita was doing well in a good private school.
One day Anita told her mother that they needed a little brother. When Tara asked Anita where on earth they would find a baby brother, she had a ready answer. "The same place where you found me. They have little Ramu there - I played with him all the time and no one wanted him. He can be my little brother."
Mother and daughter came back to Karnaprayag. Amazingly Ramu who had just had surgery for a cleft palette was still there, still waiting for someone to adopt him. Tara had found a son and A nita a brother and they joyfully took him home. Though Ramu still has health issues, this unique little family is coping well with lots of love and care for each other.
