How long does the process take?
It varies depending on each case. Domestic adoptions can take upto a year.
Will the adoption be backed by appropriate and valid medical and legal clearances?
Yes. Complete legal and medical documentation is provided including a legal affidavit giving date of birth.
Can we select a baby from a group of infants?
No. The Management Committee identifies a child for each couple after studying the infants file and the homestudy of the adopting parents. The adopting couple only has the option to accept or refuse a particular child.
Can we get a fair baby?
Not necessarily. Skin tone is not a criterion in the committees matching process. A suitable baby is identified on the basis of interviews with the parents and the homestudy.
