"It was memorable going back to Karnaprayag for a get together on the 7th of April 2007. Our daughter is 7 years old - she came to us at 7 months. She is aware of her past and wanted to go to the party !! We met about 20 parents with their children. Also couples waiting their turn. Deja vu. - Our daughter was all smiles and greeting everybody. The Governing Committee - they gave us our precious gift - our little girl. They remember every child they have given over 26 years. The staff handle nearly 30 babies at a time - they really celebrate 'their' babies going into loving homes.
Karna Prayag is a place of joy where all ends well."

Sumitra’s story
When the social worker brought Sumitra from an upcountry Government hospital we
knew why her parents had abandoned her at birth. She had a cleft lip and a cleft
palate, she could not suck from a bottle and we had to feed her milk drop by
drop, by hand.
